I lived in Vietnam for three years and wrote a blog about my experiences, called The City That Never Sleeps In. It has almost 900,000 page views, and over 1,200 published comments. Despite not being updated for four years, it continues to receive 4,000 views per month.

It was named Word magazine's blog of the year in 2011 and was recommended by the Lowy Institute for International Policy

Excerpts from the blog were translated and syndicated in a fortnightly column for Dân Trí, the largest online news sites in Vietnam, and led to media appearances on a number of Vietnamese television shows.
